Fujifilm X-H2 rumours

All going to plan, next year I will upgrade my camera (part of a 2-year upgrade cycle) with a view of increasing the megapixel tally.

I was originally planning to move to medium format. Fujifilm is due to launch a new “affordable” 50 megapixel camera later this year in the $3-4k price bucket as a 5th addition to the existing 50 and 102 megapixel offerings.  The issue is that  their lenses are pricey and not compatible with the X-series mirrorless system being medium format…

The best option is then moving one step up in the x-series range and wait for the X-H2 camera (to be priced at $1.8k some $200 more expensive than 2020’s X-T4 that is the next gen of the X-T3 I own) which is rumoured to be be launched in 2022 and feature the next generation of in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) as well as a new sensor to match Sony’s APS-C   sensor with a 43 megapixel resolution capable of shooting 8K video with 12-bit color depth.
